The 2026 edition of CIVIT'arte once again transforms Civita di Bagnoregio into a unique meeting place for art, philosophy, theatre, and contemporary culture. Throughout July, one of Italy's most enchanting hilltop villages will host an inspiring program of recitals, lectures, and cultural events featuring some of the country's most renowned intellectuals, actors, and writers.

The festival opens on July 6 with acclaimed actor Alessandro Preziosi, presenting the theatrical recital The Confessions of Saint Augustine. On July 9, Fabrizia Abbate and Giuseppina De Simone will lead the conference The Infinite Cure: Ethics for Health, exploring the relationship between medicine, ethics, and the future of healthcare.

On July 20, Luigi De Magistris, Andrea De Goyzueta, and Serena Pisa will present We and the Constitution, a performance dedicated to the values of democracy and civic responsibility. The following evening, Massimo Cacciari, one of Italy's leading philosophers, will deliver a lecture entitled From Utopia to Dystopia: A Reflection on Artificial Intelligence.

The program continues on July 22 with economist Carlo Cottarelli, who will present Speaking Plainly, followed by philosopher and essayist Marcello Veneziani on July 24 with When Nietzsche and Marx Shook Hands. The festival concludes on July 27 with historian Giordano Bruno Guerri, presenting the recital Madness? The Life of Vincent Van Gogh, accompanied by Antonio Gargiulo.
