A late August with the Festival "Notes among the Calanchi"
The Festival "Notes among the Calanchi" returns to Bagnoregio, now in its tenth edition, making it one of the longest-standing events in the town of Tuscia Viterbese. This initiative is sponsored and supported by the Municipality of Bagnoregio and Casa Civita.
"Organizing 'Notes among the Calanchi' continues to be a mission to promote beauty and culture in this delicate period due to the current circumstances we are all experiencing," say the two organizers and directors, mezzo-soprano M° Virginia Guidi and pianist M° Sara Ferrandino. They invite everyone to the Auditorium Taborra in Bagnoregio every evening from August 24th to 26th at 9:00 PM.
"'Notes among the Calanchi' is a cornerstone of our region's cultural offering," states Luca Profili, the Mayor of Bagnoregio. "I thank the organizers who have been committed to realizing this initiative for ten years." Francesco Bigiotti, the sole administrator of Casa Civita, adds, "Continuity is certainly a valuable asset, and 'Notes among the Calanchi' has managed to renew itself every year while improving its offerings, becoming not only a draw for the local population but also for enthusiasts of the genre in our province and curious tourists."
The Festival, featuring events with free admission at the Auditorium Taborra, will kick off on August 24th with the Perugia Saxophone Quartet conducted by M° Roberto Todini (with a repertoire ranging from Bach and Mozart to Scott Joplin and Gershwin).
On August 25th, the young and vibrant duo Yumi and Kiro Camilletti will present an interesting flute and piano concert featuring the works of Bach, Schubert, and Skrjabin.
The Festival will conclude on August 26th with a Lyrical Gala presented by M° Monica Benvenuti (who will also hold a masterclass in operatic singing, vocal chamber music, and contemporary vocalization from August 24th to 27th). The Gala will take the audience on a journey through the most beautiful pages of the operatic repertoire by Rossini, Puccini, and Mozart.
