Bagnoregio makes a significant appearance at the Rimini Tourism Fair, where Mayor Luca Profili showcases the innovative Civita model to influential figures within the international tourism industry. Working alongside him is Francesco Bigiotti, the CEO of the municipal-owned entity of Bagnoregio. This entity was established with the goal of ushering in a new era of tourism development for the region, aspiring to act as a driving force not only for Bagnoregio but also for the broader Tuscia and lower Umbria areas.

A Vision for the Future

Among the Bagnoregio delegation present at this pivotal event is Deputy Mayor Claudio Cavalloro, who reflects on the town's transformation over the past decade. 'Looking back about ten years, our town received only a modest number of visitors,' he recalls. 'However, fast forward to our representation of Italian beauty on the main avenue of the World Travel Market in London – Civita – a village of eight inhabitants in a metropolis of eight million. This transformation is the result of continuous media attention, and we're determined to keep pushing forward step by step,' Mayor Profili shared.

Focus on Quality and Sustainable Progress

As the town has experienced significant growth in recent years, Mayor Profili highlights the necessity of concentrating on enhancing the quality of offerings. He notes, 'We're already in the process of making improvements, and over the next few months, we expect to see tangible results. Our aim is to strengthen our ties with tour operators to better manage tourist flows.' The Mayor emphasizes the broader strategy of expanding tourism across the entire territory to prolong visitors' stays, leading to substantial economic and employment benefits. 'Our commitment extends to sustainable tourism development. By 2020, we are committed to initiating a significant effort to transition to a plastic-free municipality and introduce electric-powered tourist transportation.'
